Labour’s Rosena Allin-Khan has won a decisive victory in the Tooting by-election, according to party sources.
Sources believe she will claim a majority of roughly 6,000 over the Tories – twice that of her predecessor Sadiq Khan.
A two-minute silence was observed at the count as the death of Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox cast a shadow over the process.
Turnout in the by-election was 42.5%, Wandsworth Council said.
